Study Mission to Taiwan on University-Industry Technology Transfer

Taiwan began its development in technology-intensive industry since late 1970s. Through active engagement and commitment in building up high-value-added industries in ICT, precision machineries and optoelectronics, Taiwan has successfully transformed into a modern economic entity with solid industrial foundation. Internationally-renowned brands such as Acer, HTC and ASUS are all rooted from Taiwan.

University-industry knowledge transfer has played a pivotal role in the rapid industrial development of Taiwan. ISTA and National Cheng Kung University jointly organized this Exchange Tour to provide a platform for senior executives of universities and research institutions from Mainland China and Taiwan to exchange their success and experience in knowledge transfer, and to explore regional collaboration opportunities.

17^th Annual General Meeting cum ISTA Knowledge Transfer Management Forum Series: "East Meets West - Sharing of KT Practices and Models"
Hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the 17^th Annual General Meeting was held in Hong Kong on 12 Nov. The first Forum of the Knowledge Transfer Management Forum Series, titled "East Meets West - Sharing of KT Practices and Models", was held in conjunction with the AGM. The Forum brought together institutional administrators and expert KT practitioners from Australia, Canada, China, Korea and Singapore to share their best practices of knowledge transfer in different cultures. Besides, ISTA and ATN jointly organized a workshop to explore the development of joint PhD programs between member universities in both networks.  more...
