12th Annual ATN ConferenceThe 12
th Annual ATN Conference, with the theme of "Building Capacity with Quality", will be held in RMIT University on 2-5 Feb 2010. ISTA members are welcomed to attend this conference for interaction with the leaders and executives of ATN member universities. A Research Advisory Group meeting of the ATN/ISTA Nanonetwork will also be held during this period for the discussion of several activities planned for the year.

38th International Exhibition of Inventions of GenevaIn April 2009, ISTA coordinated several member universities to jointly participate the 37
th International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products in Geneva. This was the first time ever mainland Chinese universities participating in this international event. All of the nine inventions from ISTA member universities were highly praised by the judging panels and were awarded prizes and honours.
The next exhibition will be held in April 2010. The Secretariat welcomes ISTA members to jointly participate in this international event. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will continue to share its experience with other ISTA members in participating international invention expos for broader exposure of research achievements to entrepreneurs and investors interested in university-industry collaboration.

PolyU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Student Challenge (Co-organized by ISTA)Co-organized by ISTA, The PolyU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Student Challenge announced the finalists from the Greater China region in Apr 2009. Final competition was originally scheduled to be held in Hong Kong on 5-6 Jun 2009. Unfortunately, due to the Influenza A (H1N1) pandemic, it will be postponed to 10 Jun 2010.

China-Europa ForumFirst launched in 2005, the China-Europa Forum is an independent event initiated by Chinese and European societal communities that seek to establish continuous dialogue between China and Europe on areas of common interest. It has enjoyed tremendous success in its first and second biennial meetings in 2005 and 2007. The third meeting, co-organized by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will be held in Hong Kong in July 2010. The Secretary-General of ISTA had taken up the prime mover role for the workgroup on "Knowledge Transfer between Universities and Industries" with his counterpart from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. ISTA members are welcomed to involve in the workgroup activities, for exchange of ideas and insights with European members.
