ISTA facilitates cooperation among its members in driving
applied R&D activities through collaborative research
projects, joint research centres and laboratories, etc. Under
the guidance of the Executive Committee, the Alliance

The expertise and resources from the ISTA member universities
are pooled together for research collaboration, technology
transfer, commercialization and related internationalization

Joint Research Centres and Laboratories
Joint research centres have been formed among the ISTA
member universities to strengthen the research capabilities
on specific technological areas.
Conferences, Exchange & Study Missions
ISTA organizes regular conferences and study missions
for member universities to foster academic and intellectual
interflow.
Conferences : Major corporations are invited to present
topics on high-tech areas and requirements on business
partnership for commercialization of technologies and
products. In addition, renowned academic leaders are
invited to share their experiences in management leadership
and innovation strategy in higher education institutions.
Seminars and Training Sessions : Topics include investment
risks, financial management, organizational structure
and strategies of raising capital for high-tech ventures.
Study Missions : The itinerary includes visits to member
universities and high-tech organizations

International Collaboration
In Jul 2005, ISTA signed a Memorandum of Understanding
with Australian Technology Network (ATN) to strengthen
the collaboration of the two networks. ATN is a network
of five outstanding, innovative and enterprising universities
