The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
In today's globalized economy, universities worldwide
are facing both challenges and opportunities fuelled
by regional knowledge and innovation clusters. To sustain
growth in the long run, management leadership and visioning
are the keys to an institution's strategic development
road map.
In view of this, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
organized the Higher Education Management Leadership
Forum 2007. It addressed both strategic positioning
and operational needs of institutional leadership and
innovation through an interactive platform consisting
of ISTA member institutions, distinguished academic
leaders and policy makers.
The Forum, which spanned two days, attracted over 120
participants from 44 higher education institutes. In
parallel to this forum was the Global CEO Forum, which
had brought over 500 top business executives to the
agenda of Chinese integration into the global market
place. Joint sessions on innovation strategy and university-industrial
collaboration had provided a cross-region platform for
top leaders and executives from both academia and business
to develop insights and opportunities in their common
pursuit of excellence and sustainability.
